Wow, so lazy

I have been so lazy about blogging lately. This is what happens when I get caught up in my writing.

I think I wrote that I attended a “how to sell your first book” seminar, and that the instructor, a former teacher of mine, suggested I contact two other former teachers for advance blurbs for my agent letter. Well, I finally sent the revised letter about a week ago. One teacher returned a blurb that night, while I just got the other one. Yay! I didn’t think I’d ever get that second one. Problem is now the letter is too long. Time to cut.

I don’t remember if I already wrote about this, but I decided to restructure my book (again!). Right now it sort of alternates between what I’m calling the China and adultery stories, and while the China sections were pretty much chronological, the adultery sections were not. In a way it’s interesting because certain events resonate, but it was too confusing.

So I’m putting the adultery sections in chronological order too. But the whole books open with a pivotal scene so that readers will know immediately what happened. It’s not about maintaining suspense but about exploring why this and other events happened. Also, putting these sections in order is also helping me fil in the blanks with additional anecdotes and whatnot.

I’ve also been somewhat busy with schoolwork. I had a paper due last week, and a short presentation to give this Thursday, based on a resource. I was going to look at the book on Sunday, but it was at a branch of the library that was closed. :( So I have to go at lunch today. I totally could have done it on Friday or Saturday, but I was feeling lazy.

MB is deep in music-school-world now. This weekend he got a keyboard, 61 keys. It’s fun to have a keyboard in the apartment. He’s been encouraging me to play again and bought a beginner’s classical book, saying that it was for himself to learn out of. But he totally knew I’d want to start playing those pieces, which is what I did most of yesterday afternoon. Now I want to pick up some old piano books from my parents’ house.

The only thing about the keyboard is that you can’t play louder and softer. In that way Bach is more fun to play since he wrote for the harpsichord, which also was not adjustable in terms of volume.

This weekend we saw Quaruntine, which was pretty dumb but also pretty scary. Why is people behaving like animals so disturbing? This upcoming weekend I’m taking my parents to see Chicago for my dad’s birthday. It’ll be my fourth time but I don’t mind since it’s for my dad who has never seen a Broadway musical before, and it’s one I really like. Plus I got a special deal through my credit card, $100+ tickets for $60! Orchestra seats.

Okay, work time.

Venting, and an update

I hate my information technologies class.

We have a group assignment due today, basically a group web page. It doesn’t have to be 100% complete but it does need to be in web format.

No problem – it took me less than an hour to do it. But that’s the problem: it took ME, by myself, less than an hour to do it.

I’m no martyr. I mean, I volunteered to be “webmaster,” mostly by default, but the way this class is being taught makes no sense whatsoever. Instead of practicing HTML in class, the professor lectures about it and we read about it, but we never actually do it.

That’s all well and good as an introduction, but our assignments, ie what we get GRADED on, are web pages! For me it’s no problem. Our page is really simple and I do simple HTML for my job. But for those who have never done it before, all they’ll do is take what I’ve created and change the text. So unless they work really hard on their own outside of class, they’ll probably never learn to do even simple HTML coding.

Then again, maybe they will. In addition to the group page, we all have individual pages that link to pages that house our assignments. I’ve created the basic templates and now they need to go in and replace the verbiage, which forces you to try to understand what’s going on with the code. I’m definitely not going to do it for other people. They need to do it themselves.

You know what else gets my goat? Last night we were supposed to meet as a group to tie up loose ends before today’s presentation of our page. Only 3, including me, out of 6 showed up. One I knew couldn’t make it, though she was totally lame with her last minute excuse of, “Oh, I thought I could get out of class but I can’t – I owe everyone ice cream!!!” Yeah cuz ice cream’s gonna get the work done. One had a legitimate excuse of being stuck in traffic and was very apologetic. One just “forgot.”

*Sigh.* I don’t know why professors think group assignements are a good idea, especially for those of us who have been working. I mean, hello, I’ve worked in a “team” for a good 15 years, I don’t need a refresher.

My other class is a little boring, but at least I feel like I’m learning. Who knew there was such a process around helping people with their research questions?

For my last two semesters, I’m taking all traditional library courses. No more of this tech bullshit that I can learn on the job or read out of a book, or that I already know just from playing around on the web.

~ ~ ~

This weekend we thought we didn’t have anything planned, aside from a Margaret Cho show with YP and some of his friends on Saturday, but it ended up busy anyway.

MB forgot one of his friends was in town so at the last minute on Saturday, we ended up having lunch with him and his girlfriend, then taking them around SoHo and the West Village. It was fun. Both friend and girlfriend were really nice with good senses of humor. (You’d think that’d be more common but it’s not.)

After that we had just about an hour before meeting YP and his friend for Korean dinner. On that very day there was the first ever Korean Day Parade and Festival, so it was madness in Koreatown. The restaurant YP’s friend, who’s Korean, originally picked had a super long wait. Luckily she was able to find another one with no wait at all.

The food was good. Though it’s hard to go wrong with bibimbap and spicy tofu soup.

Margaret Cho was performing for one night at Radio City so the sidewalk outside was craziness! But once we sat, we noticed lots of empty seats. Weird. As always, she was hilarious. Lots of sex talk with a dash of mother impressions. Plus this guy was a guest. You know I’d never heard of that “shoes” video till I went to another one of Margaret Cho’s shows last year.

It wasn’t even 10 by the time we got out, so MB and I had energy to see a midnight showing of Raiders of the Lost Ark. I haven’t seen that quite as many times as other movies that have played at that theater (eg, The Shining, Spirited Away) so it was really fun. The special effects seem so cheesy compared to now. And Harrison Ford was hot! I’d forgotten.

Sunday was a practicing music day for MB and a shopping day for me. I need pants! but didn’t have any luck. I did manage to buy some other stuff I needed, including a shower curtain. At home I took the opportunity of a temporarily shower free tub to clean the bathroom. Yay, clean bathroom!

That night I finally got my schoolwork organized and realized that I’ve fallen behind in my reading. But now I’m all caught up. This upcoming weekend will be all about homework. I have assignments due Tuesday and Thursday.

It’s getting chillier and chillier. Yesterday I bought some sweaters from Barami, buy one get one free. But the turtlenecks, which I didn’t try on at the store, threaten to choke me so I need to exchange them for regular sweaters. Since moving and getting rid of old stuff, I feel like I have practically no clothes.

School days

Classes started this week. This semester I’m taking the last of my required courses, Information Technology and Information Sources and Services.

I know several people in Information Technology, including that crazy old bat from one of my first classes, who also happens to be in my group. Dammit! That’s what I get for arriving late the first day.

The teacher has a sort of negative reputation. Rumor has it he’s made people cry. But keeping that in mind, he doesn’t seem too bad so far. Also, I’m glad I took that web design class over the summer – I’m used to trying to follow someone who’s going very quickly. And he’s not going to stop to help anyone out, that’s for sure. First class he had us save a web page as a .htm, no biggie, but the old bat couldn’t do it. She interrupted saying, “Can you help me?” and he said, “No, I’m sorry, I can’t. There just isn’t time.” Kind of mean but also kind of awesome.

We won’t be using Dreamweaver or Photoshop in this class; he wants us to code by hand. That’s fine by me. So far I find writing HTML easier than using Dreamweaver.

My other class was yesterday, and lasted all of 40 minutes. The teacher had some minor emergency (a sick daughter), and the class was sort of blah. I was surprised to see that about 3/4’s were newbies. I recognized just one person.

Oh, and the A/C hasn’t been working properly in the classrooms. It has been positively roasting.

In other news I just booked our train tickets for SG’s wedding in DC at the end of the month. Yay, SG! Should be fun. I still haven’t decided on a hotel. I’m tempted to book a more expensive one since it’ll be just one night, but I want to discuss it with MB first.

Next week I was supposed to go up to Connecticut for a tour of one of our facilities, but that night I have class. I thought I could just catch a slightly earlier train to get back in time, but there isn’t one. There’s one that gets in at 6 – class is at 6:30 – but that’s cutting it too close, I think. Amtrak’s usually late.

MB is auditioning for music school today – in fact, he’s auditioning right now. This is something he has always wanted to do, and with the severance package, he’s able to. Of course this doesn’t stop the ‘rents from asking every two seconds when he’s going to start looking for a job. Grrr! He is not your son or son-in-law!!! I do think it’s sweet that they are already starting to think of him as a son, but they need to lay off, for reals. We have more than enough to live on, and right now we want to pursue our dreams, which do not currently involve buying a condo or house.

It has been soooo quiet at work lately. It’s lovely to have all this time to myself to plug along on my projects, but it’s also too easy to get unmotivated.

Ahhh!

School’s over for the summer! Which means just a month of no classes, but I’ll appreciate every free weeknight.

I had my last Electronic Resources class last night. We turned in our final papers (10-15 pages) and gave our presentations. I had created a bunch of slides, but ended up not using them. The vibe in the room was very informal, so I just walked through the site I had written about (the Internet Archive and the Wayback Machine), and then talked about different web archiving methods and the legal issues the Internet Archive has faced. I’m glad I did the slides though; it helped me organize my thoughts.

Unlike my Information Professions class spring semester, the E-Resources prof didn’t time our presentations, so the first one went on for half an hour. Although I thought there might not be time for all of us, I volunteered to go second. I’d rather just get that kind of thing overwith than sit around being nervous. I went on for about 20 minutes. The presentations got shorter and shorter, till finally we ended at 9:30, about half an hour later than we usually do. We were all pretty pooped by the end.

We do have one more session next week, to make up for the one the prof missed, but there’s nothing to prepare and it’s just 90 minutes. It’ll be at the New York Public Library, and essentially the teacher will review the NYPL’s electronic resources with us.

I can’t believe I won’t have any homework to do this weekend. Just fun reading and working on my memoir. Right now I’m reading A Freewheelin’ Time, Suze Rotolo’s memoir about life in Greenwich Village in the 1960s, as well as her relationship with Bob Dylan. MB got the book after we saw I’m Not There. It’s just okay so far. Too much telling, not enough showing. But the subject matter is interesting.

This weekend is MB’s birthday. We didn’t plan anything big; I’ll treat him to dinner at his restaurant of choice. I did get him a gift though. Cafe Press lets you customize T-shirts, so what I did was take the logo from MB’s blog and a couple of funny lines he’s written, and put them on T-shirts. The one with the logo turned out pretty good; the quote ones are hard to read, but oh well. It’s just for fun, and I think he’ll get a kick out of it.

We will also probably go see a midnight showing of Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior at some point. I’ve never seen it, nor the first one. I’ve seen the third one though, Beyond Thunderdome, though it seems real Mad Max fans don’t like that one, the way die-hard Star Wars fans hate Return of the Jedi.

A quickie before the gym

I had a second blog entry all ready to go last week, but for some reason I just couldn’t get it together to post it.

Last week I was really sick of school. Tuesday I skipped class. The night before I had taken a Benadryl – having run out of Allegra over the weekend – and was completely groggy the whole next day. I felt somewhat guilty ditching, but still had a lovely evening hanging with MB. Then the next morning it turned out the teacher had canceled class at the last minute. Woohoo, me!

I did make it to class on Thursday. The teacher felt she had to make up for class on Tuesday so we had just a five minute break, as opposed to 20, and we ended at 9, as opposed to 8:30. The class seemed soooo long. Usually we have our break at 7:30, giving us the opportunity to run out and get a snack. But she didn’t let us go till 8, and I was STARVING. I couldn’t even concentrate.

I talked to one of my other classmates, and she said she also feels saturated with this class. We agree we like the teacher, but it’s just a lot of information, and quite a bit of it is redundant.

During the week I was able to get m Allegra. Yay!

The weekend was pretty quiet. I have my final paper and presentation due this Thursday so I worked on that a lot, while MB started working on his book again. We did see one movie,
Transsiberian, which was HORRIBLE. It’s the first bad movie I’ve seen in a long time. Right off I hated most of the characters, and the plot was just ridiculous, and I didn’t understand the main character’s motivation. Anyway, I don’t recommend it, not even as a rental.

Saturday morning YP and I had our monthly photo excursion. This time the theme was the “Seedy Side of Central Park,” one of my stupid ideas. Walking around, we realized that the seediness had been cleaned up long ago, and ended up taking “gross” pictures of nature instead.

Sunday was lots of working, and I’m so glad because I’m almost done with my paper and presentation! And a few days ahead of schedule! I knew that I wouldn’t be able to write the paper during the week; after work I’m just pooped.

Now off to the gym.

Quiet weekend this time

Friday I had a half day as usual. After the gym I went to school to make yet more copies, and ran out of change before finishing completely.

MB was at a coffee shop in the area so I met up with him there. I like the food there, but what the place is famous for is its model-like waitstaff. Everyone who works there is tall and thin and gorgeous. The girl behind the bar wasn’t tall, but she was very pretty and knew it. She had a weird way of engaging people, both men and women, very flirtatious instead of just normal and down to earth.

Late that afternoon we saw Hellboy II. Another good movie! I love all the weird creatures that director thinks up, like in Pan’s Labyrinth.

Friday and Saturday were very much stay at home days, except for meals. MB was rather obssessed with a project he was working on. Plus I had a ton of reading to do for class and wanted to work on my memoir as well.

Sunday we left the house. Yay! Grabbed a late lunch, then took a long walk before settling in Washington Square Park to do some work. MB kept seeing people he knew, or at least recognized. First up was some eccentric older dude from a music meet-up, shopping cart full of musical equipment in tow. Second was this poor clearly anorexic woman. MB had seen her in Union Square a while back; on Sunday she was just wandering Washington Square Park, walking up and down, up and down.

Then as we’re about to leave, who do we see but YP on his way back from Hellboy. I almost never see anyone I know.

I’m finally at my correct pay rate now for work. Even though I officially started on May 16, till last week I was still at my old pay rate in the system. (Damn the system!) HR said I should get a check to make up for the difference.

Also will be getting my tuition reimbursement soon. Yay! I need to use that to help pay for my fall tuition, which I won’t get back till after the semester. It’s a bit of a challenge, to say the least.

This weekend I’ll be heading up to Boston to hang with ES. Another yay! Apparently there are a whole bunch of festivals going on, art and music and whatnot. I haven’t been up there in ages.

A new post, finally

Don’t know how I went a whole week without blogging. Wasn’t even that busy last week.

Today is my last web design class. We had a make-up class on Saturday, and so I was able to finish up my project that day and upload it to the share drive. It’s pretty basic, but the teacher said it was good enough. Today we have to “present” it to the class, which just means projecting it for everyone to see, and then walking through it. Not a formal presentation, but still embarrassing.

My old boss continues to annoy me. Normally I wouldn’t mind answering questions, but he asks in such an off-putting way, not even addressing me directly but cc’ing me on a message and addressing me in third person, ie, “Hopefully Anna May can help,” instead of, “Anna May, can you help?” It’s a subtle yet significant difference. He’d do that when I worked for him, but now it’s like, “Dude, I’m doing you a favor on someone else’s dime. At least address me directly.” At this rate, I may stop answering his emails altogether.

Friday YP and I went to a showing of the movie Grease, which was also a sing-a-long. I expected a lot more people to be there, but the theatre wasn’t even halfway full. Some people showed up in costume, which for the guys meant white T-shirts and jeans. There was a costume contest at the beginning. Neither of us had patience for it, especially since it was a midnight showing.

But it was fun overall. In addition to singing, we kept making snarky comments – “Yes, hello, I’m 30 and I’m still in high school” – and pointing out plot holes, like couldn’t have Sandy gotten the message to Danny that she wasn’t going back to Australia? Wouldn’t she have called him right away? Also, what’s the message of the movie? Give into peer pressue and you’ll be cool!

I had had a glass and a half of wine so the next day I was pretty hungover (yes I know: wimp). Luckily my class was at 11. It wasn’t so bad actually. I enjoyed the A/C as a I fiddled around with my website and downed some coffee, and only half paid attention to the teacher.

For the rest of the weekend, MB and I hung out, doing some work, walking around the city, eating. We watched a couple of episodes of Deadwood, which were really good.

Woke up at 5:30 this morning and couldn’t fall back asleep. Not so bad, but I went to bed late, around 1, so now I’m tired.

Stormy weather

There goes my rule about no posting at work.

Had what felt like a busy weekend. Friday afternoon I was able to leave work a little early and head home before going to class. MB and I also had a chance to grab something to eat. I figured I could be a little late since it was a makeup class on a Friday night.

It was very very boring. Walked through a bunch of examples again, this time using Flash. One of my classmates has spent the last few classes working on her final project. I should have done the same, and will definitely do so tonight. This week we’re not meeting on Wednesday since the teacher will be at some conference; makeup is on Saturday, blech. At least it doesn’t start till 11, and I have the rest of the week free after today.

After class MB and I ate dinner, then went to see The Incredible Hulk. It was good! The theatre was jam packed. We were in the balcony, and there were some idiots down below who kept laughing at not-funny parts, like they were in junior high or something.

We didn’t get back till almost 3, so I slept in till about 11. We hung around, then went off to Chelsea Market for my dad’s Father Day gifts – teas, chocolate, and red wine, an antioxidant feast. On the way, we totally got caught in a thunderstorm. At first it was just a steady rain, but then we stopped in this coffee place, got my coffee, looked out the window, and it was a monsoon.

We waited a few minutes, but then, at least according to MB, it started to slow. “Let’s go,” he said.

“Are you sure?” I asked. “Let’s wait a little longer.”

“I think it’s slowing. C’mon, let’s go.”

It was not slowing. In fact it got worse, blowing sheets of rain at us horizontally. We had umbrellas, which do absolutely no good. The moment we stepped outside, MB’s got turned inside out, and I got soaked from head to toe. We ducked under a bus stop till the rain finally did begin to abate, then trudged, wetly, to the subway.

When we left Chelsea Market, it had started to pour again so we did the smart thing that time and hopped a cab.

I think my sneakers may still be wet.

Sunday I was up semi-early to get a load of laundry in before heading to the ‘rents’. On my way out the building, I was greeted with a very unpleasant sight: a guy peeing in our freaking doorway. Yuck! Something I do NOT need to see EVER. He was on his cell phone and so didn’t see me till I knocked on the glass and motioned nastily at him to get out of here. At least he had the decency to look embarrassed.

The traffic was murder getting to Penn Station, and then I had to wait around for an hour cuz I just missed the train. Apparently everyone and his brother was going to NJ for Father’s Day. Luckily I was able to snag a window seat, and thank God for my iPod cuz a guy behind me was LOUD.

In NJ we did what we always do: shop! This time I felt inspired and got a black skirt and two white shirts. Well, “inspired” may be relative, but all are very cute and were on sale. For dinner we went to this mediocre Japanese place run by Chinese people. But my parents like it.

My mother didn’t annoy me too much this time. We actually talked about my job instead of just playing 20 questions about MB. He and I will be visiting together next month, sometime over Fourth of July weekend. Of course he’s totally good-natured about it.

I got back around 9:30 and was pooped. Although I was falling asleep around 11, I didn’t sleep well. I couldn’t get comfortable. Under the blanket was too warm, without it was chilly. The humidity doesn’t help.

Off to the gym.

A beautiful day

Too bad I’m at work! But so is almost everyone.

MB is back, yay! He flew in Wednesday afternoon, and his time has been all screwy. That day he was wracked with jet lag and allergies, so he went to bed “early” (before midnight). But last night he stayed up all night writing. Crazy guy.

My new – well, semi-new – job is going well. Right now my boss wants me to concentrate on building an internal team site using SharePoint. SharePoint’s not the greatest, but it’s fun all the same. He knows I’m learning as I’m going, so understands that it will take some time for me to make my way it through it, and that if any of his requirements are too complex, I can get training or tech support.

He actually took the time to do a great mock-up in PowerPoint of how he wants the site to be. I took his mock-ups and did a navigation map to keep everything straight in my head, as well as a project plan so that neither of us would forget any details, and to come up with some sort of timeline. I had estimated early to mid July for launch, but he is being more conservative and thinking August.

Wow, it’s great to have a boss who 1) has realistic expectations, 2) knows exactly what he wants, and 2) values my skills. At my old job, I loved working on our website, but my old boss didn’t think it was very important (yet expected it to somehow magically get done) and thought I should be doing “better” things.

My web design class is helping with this. Although we’re using different programs – Dreamweaver and Photoshop – practicing with those helps get my brain rewired to understand those kinds of tools better. Also, it’s good to have basic web design knowledge, from the front and back ends.

Still, the class is pretty boring. He mostly just walks us through examples, and occasionally tasks us with actually creating things. And tonight we have our makeup class for the first one he missed – on a Friday night! But at least we’re supposed to just use most of that time to work on our final projects. He can’t make next Wednesday either, so our makeup class is on Saturday. Ah well.

So I’ve had this dry cough for about three weeks now. Back in late May I caught a little cold, and today I’m still coughing, though far less then even a couple of days ago. Normally I’d just ignore it – I always have a long drawn-out cough after I’m sick – but MB was all concerned so I went to the doctor on Wednesday.

First off, she kept me waiting for an hour. My appointment was at 11:30 but she didn’t see me till 12:30. I didn’t make a stink. At about 12 I went up to the receptionist and said I was sorry but I’d have to reschedule since I had to get back to work. That seemed to hurry things up a little. Who knows how long I’d have waited if I hadn’t said anything.

My doctor’s diagnosis? That I have asthma induced by my cold. Some people, she said, only have asthma when they get sick, and take a long time to get well. It’s true my coughs usually last a really long time after I have a cold, but I don’t have any of the other symptoms for asthma. No wheezing, no shortness of breath, no constriction in my chest. I run with my no problem, even when I’m sick.

Or it may be allergies, she said. She gave me a bunch of allergy medicine, as well as an inhaler. I really don’t want to take either. I don’t feel like I have allergies, and I don’t think I have asthma. So what I’ve been doing is taking a vitamin C every day, as well as these Chinese licorice tables which have worked in the past. I *think* my cough is better.

I hate taking medicine when I don’t have to. A couple of months ago I went to see a dermatologist about the constant breakouts on my chin. And by “constant,” I really mean once a month or so. It’s not like I have acne. And yet she wanted to give me oral antibiotics.

Antibiotics for cosmetic reasons? I declined and went for the topical stuff instead, which has been working just fine.

I don’t get these doctors wanting to shove pills down my throat every two seconds. When I go, I want to hear, “It’s not a big deal, don’t worry about it.” I’m not looking for a pill to fix everything. But maybe I’m the exception.

Yesterday I had yet another annoying conversation with my mother. She’s obsessed with the idea of MB and my buying a condo or whatever, which we’re just not interested in right now. Our rent is so cheap between the two of us, and buying a condo in Manhattan would be ridiculously expensive and would tie us down. The last thing I want to be is tied down to a job or geography.

I’ve sung this song before, but I don’t want to go back to that part of my life before my divorce, bound by familial and financial obligations. Settled down. Tied down. I don’t want to worry about a mortgage right now.

I’ve explained that we may not always want to live in New York, and every time I say it, my mother acts like it’s news.

Drives me crazy.

I can’t resist

Posting at work that is.

Lots to catch up on. First off, the spider bite is much better. The swelling is all gone, and it’s not really itchy anymore. Now there’s just a pale red splotch. And I finished the antibiotics on Monday, thank goodness. No more upset stomach.

Tuesday I took my first business trip for my job. It was just up to our site in Connecticut, but still a momentous first step. I met with the project manager for this internal website we’re building. She walked me through the whole thing, which was very helpful.

Our company’s office up there is just beautiful. In the hallways are floor to ceiling windows that look out on the harbor. “I see the Gap,” I told my coworker of my own view. “And people smoking.” But at least I have a window.

It was kind of exhausting going up there and back in one day, but fun at the same time. I’ll probably have to do it a few more times over the next couple of months before we launch in August.

Back at headquarters, I’ll also be working on a mini-site for headquarter-specific needs, which will be a link on the bigger site.

Over the weekend, aside from the Battle of the Brown Recluse Spider, MB and I saw a great documentary, Bigger, Stronger, Faster, which was about the use and abuse of steroids. It was very interesting. One of the guys in it – also known as the man with the exploding arm – was at the showing, and answered some questions afterwards. In person he looked bulky but not freakish. In the movie he looked freakish.

It’s really kind of gross how huge some people get, though there is no real evidence that ties steroid use to any sort of diseases, as it’s unethical to do long-term clinical trials. Lyle Alzado said he got brain cancer from steroid use, but his own doctor said it couldn’t be true, and according to the body builder guy who answered our questions, Alzado actually had AIDS. Who knows.

And is it cheating if everyone is using steroids? If everyone’s on it, then it’s a level playing field. But it takes away, doesn’t it? I think that’s why people hate the idea. It’s a contradiction: fans want to see Barry Bonds hit homer after homer after homer, which isn’t humanly possible, but then he’s reviled when it’s revealed he wasn’t doing it on his own.

As for class, it’s been pretty boring this week. We’ve been learning CSS, which isn’t as engaging as the work we did earlier.

Got some new shoes last night. When I moved I got rid of a lot of shoes, thinking, I don’t need these! These either! Then suddenly it hit me that I have almost no summer work shoes. The pair I got are brown leather Mary Janes. So far they feel light and comfortable. And they’re adorable!

On a final note: yay Obama!

‘Nuff said.
